Red Currant (Ribes rubrum)
Red currants are a hardy, productive perennial shrub prized for their bright clusters of tart, ruby-red berries. Well suited to permaculture systems, they thrive in cool climates and partial sun, making them an excellent understory plant in food forests and mixed hedgerows.
