So what happens when you cross Northern Spy and Golden Delicious? You get Spigold an extremely sweet and juicy apple with just a touch of the Northern Spy “zing”. These are often large apples which is good because the tree does tend to biennialism. Hardy to zone 4 this apple will often be ripe around the second week of October.

Very Hardy, Semi-Standard Rootstock with red leaves and wood. Will grow to 80-90% of a standard tree or roughly 20ft. We use this rootstock because it produces trees that will be actual trees and importantly should grow taller than the deer can reach.
